On the weekend of March 22nd – 24th an intrepid band of ten adventurers from Drayton Insurance are embarking on a charity cycle ride from London to Brussels in order to raise for money for Harry vs Neuroblastoma.
Harry is 2 years old and suffers from a rare condition known as high-risk neuroblastoma. He is currently undergoing immunotherapy, however this treatment will be finishing soon. With Harry nearing the end of his frontline treatment, everyone is hopeful he will be in remission when he has his next scans in April. But neuroblastoma is a particularly aggressive childhood cancer; almost 50% of children diagnosed will relapse at some point, and when that happens, less than one in ten survive.
So Harry’s parents, Carly and Ali, are appealing for your support to help raise £239,000 by the end of April to access a vaccine in New York that’s showing promising signs in reducing the chances of relapse, giving Harry the best chance at living cancer-free.
Carly is a friend and former colleague to a number of us so we are determined to help them meet their target and do what we can for Harry.
Needless to say, we’re not professional cyclists, and we’re a little concerned getting out of London, let alone the rest of the way, so this is certainly a tough challenge for us! We are being ably supported by James Walsgrove at Ride Harder who is lending his experience and guidance in order to act as team chief.
Thank you in advance for your support in our challenge and generous donation.
