My first year on the Ride Harder Academy

My first year on the Ride Harder Academy

Well, I don’t know where to start really! Just wow what a year it’s been for me!

I joined the academy last year as I wanted some structure to my training as I was just going out and pushing as hard as I could on almost every ride all I and in my head was my average speed but found I wasn’t improving. I’d always been interested in time trialling and had always been something on my tick list that I wanted to attempt. I have only been cycling a couple of years and only occasionally as my main focus was running. Well, I found the love for cycling and attempted two 10 mile TT last year and got hooked so joining the academy gave me the training and support I needed for this and certainly helped me achieve more than I thought was possible this year.

James’s support and encouragement throughout the academy was outstanding so much so that when the 16-week plan ended I joined the advanced academy! Some sessions were hard but with support from other members, we got through them all. I went on to complete the 10-mile tt league winning 1st female, my first 25mile tt and onto a 100 mile, then the big one the 12 hour TT! I shocked myself and completed the full 12hour with the finishing miles of 241.9 (I must say it did help to see james marshalling and supporting during the race! )and last but not least 200 mile epic!

So I have had a great year and will be back this year! Thanks, james for all your support none of this would have been achieved without it and your coaching. I highly recommend the academy and am super excited to start this year
