🗓️ Suggested start: Monday 23 November 2026 | ⏱️ 22 weeks | 🎯 Ready for Saturday 24 April 2027

312km. Over 5,000m of climbing. The riders who finish it comfortably are the ones who gave themselves enough runway, and 22 weeks is plenty of runway.

This plan takes you from late autumn fitness right through to the start line of the Mallorca 312, with structure, purpose and balance the whole way. A 6 week base block off the back of the Ride Harder plan, then straight into the full 16 week Mallorca 312 plan in January. No gap, no guesswork in between.

Phase 1: Base block (weeks 1 to 6, late November to Christmas)

Six focused weeks to build the foundation before the specific work starts. It gives you a reason to train through the darkest part of the winter, so you go into January already fit rather than trying to build and sharpen at the same time.

📈 Training volume: 6-10 hours per week

Phase 2: Make it 312 specific (weeks 7 to 22, January to race day)

In January you roll straight into the 16 week Mallorca 312 plan, the same plan hundreds of riders have used to complete their chosen distance. Event specific endurance, the long ride progression, the climbing, the fuelling and the pacing all come together here.

How Phase 2 is built:
Month 1: Base fitness (wk16 to wk13)
Month 2: Muscular endurance, event specific build (wk12 to wk9)
Month 3: Build (wk8 to wk5)
Month 4 Part 1: Peak (wk4 to wk3)
Month 4 Part 2: Taper (wk2 to event)

📈 Training volume: 8-12 hours per week

Is 22 weeks the right length for you?

It is long enough to deliver a real change in fitness, but manageable if you cannot commit to the full 28 week build up, or if you are coming into the winter already riding consistently. If you want the complete October start, look at The Ultimate Mallorca 312 Training Plan (28 weeks). If you are starting in the new year, the 16 week plan begins on Monday 4 January 2027.

Yours to keep, forever

Every session is planned out in advance, so you get the structure you need with the flexibility to train when it suits you. The plan is improved and tweaked every season using rider feedback, and once it is yours you can start it when you want and re-use it as many times as you like.

On your own, or with support?

This is a DIY plan. You get the training and nothing else to think about. What you do not get is the coached side of it: the live group workouts, the nutrition and mindset workshops, race day guides and 312 hacks, and access to the coaches and the rider community all the way through. If you would rather not do the winter on your own, take a look at The Ultimate Mallorca 312 Training Academy, which starts on Monday 12 October 2026, or the Mallorca 312 Academy, which starts in January.

  • Getting your plan

To deliver your plan, we use TrainingPeaks. You will need to create a free account. It's helpful if you use the same email for your account that you use to purchase your plan!

  • Completing the sessions

Linking your TrainingPeaks account to your app of choice (Zwift, Rouvy, TrainerRoad) is easy. But reach out if you need any help!

Your sessions will sync so you'll be able to hop on your trainer and complete them

  • Indoor & outdoor sessions

Some workouts are suited to indoor training, especially the quick interval sessions. However, almost every workout can be completed outside too. All you need is a heart rate monitor to track your training zone.

Within each workout description, I'll provide instructions for riding indoor vs outdoor!

All your questions answered 👇

I don't know what distance I'm going to ride?

No problem - at the Mallorca 312 it's fine to decide on the day which distance you want to complete.

In terms of choosing the right plan, it's all about how much time you have to train

167km plans: 6-8 hrs per week
225km plans: 8-10 hrs per week
312km plans: 10-12 hrs per week

Choose the level of plan you can commit to and our training plans will provide you with the fitness and capability to achieve that distance!

How many sessions/days will I be training per week?

This depends on the type of plan and also the stage of the plan. 3-4 weeks out from your event will be your highest volume of training.

Typically, you'll have 2 key shorter sessions midweek, and a longer ride on the weekend.

There are plenty of optional sessions so you can choose to train as much as you feel like!

Can I still ride with friends?

Each session is designed to be completed within your training zones - training with others can make that difficult.

However, a lot of the weekend rides are Zone 2 rides at a consistent pace. Provided you are at a similar level of fitness, or can control the pace, riding these with friends should be no problem at all

What do I need?

Minimum:

✅ A bike
✅ A Heart Rate Monitor
✅ A TrainingPeaks Account (free)
✅ Ability to track power either indoors (on a turbo/Wattbike) or outside on your bike

What if I miss a session?

Don't panic! Life gets in the way sometimes. The plans take a long-term approach to training, so one session won't set you back.

If you miss a week or more through illness or injury, make sure you're fully rested before restarting the plan. If you can, try to increase the volume.

If you're ever unsure, reach out to me for help!

Can I move the sessions around?

Of course - try to keep the same order of sessions, as they are planned to be progressive.

The plans are originally set out to work around the usual working week (shorter midweek sessions, longer weekend sessions)

You can move these around to suit you

What's so good about this plan compared to general 'Gran Fondo' or endurance plans?

I have found that the Mallorca 312 provides riders with unique challenges. The elevation is testing, with climbs coming in quick succession, with a vastly different course profile in the second half of the event.

Having done this event 7 times - I have been able to tailor this plan and improve it year on year specifically for this challenge.

Rather than just prescribing a high training load, I've always focused on making this plan fit around a working lifestyle, so you're training smarter.
