Planning to take on the mammoth Mallorca 312km distance in April 2026 and need a structured 8 week fitness push?
This Mallorca 312 plan ensures you'll smash the most important period of training, with specific sessions to mimic the demands of the epic sportive.
This is the plan I, and countless others, have used for the past 7 years to complete the full 312km distance. This plan is improved and tweaked every season with your feedback to become even better, in terms of advice, enjoyment and volume.
You should already be at a good level of fitness and have been riding regularly over the winter. This plan gives you the direction you need to smash your final training blocks and taper perfectly to be at your peak come April 25th
Ride Harder provides the most detailed and comprehensive training plans out there for this special event. What’s more, it is yours to keep and can be started/re-used as you wish, forever!

How our plans work:
-
Getting your plan
To deliver your plan, we use TrainingPeaks. You will need to create a free account. It's helpful if you use the same email for your account that you use to purchase your plan!
-
Completing the sessions
Linking your TrainingPeaks account to your app of choice (Zwift, Rouvy, TrainerRoad) is easy. But reach out if you need any help!
Your sessions will sync so you'll be able to hop on your trainer and complete them -
Indoor & outdoor sessions
Some workouts are suited to indoor training, especially the quick interval sessions. However, almost every workout can be completed outside too. All you need is a heart rate monitor to track your training zone.
Within each workout description, I'll provide instructions for riding indoor vs outdoor!
I can categorically state that I could not have completed the 312 without James' plan
I started talking to James on Instagram about my plans to take on the 312. I was riding 5 hours every weekend so assumed I'd have the fitness required.
Politely, James pointed out that this training wasn't going to work. If I was serious about the full 312km, I needed a proper training plan - and he was absolutely right!
James knows all there is to know about the event, and provides a calm, structured approach to training.
I completed the full 312km in 13 hours and 18 minutes, with my legs feeling ok and no pain whatsoever. I could not have done this without James' plan

All your questions answered 👇
I don't know what distance I'm going to ride?
No problem - at the Mallorca 312 it's fine to decide on the day which distance you want to complete.
In terms of choosing the right plan, it's all about how much time you have to train
167km plans: 6-8 hrs per week
225km plans: 8-10 hrs per week
312km plans: 10-12 hrs per week
Choose the level of plan you can commit to and our training plans will provide you with the fitness and capability to achieve that distance!
How many sessions/days will I be training per week?
This depends on the type of plan and also the stage of the plan. 3-4 weeks out from your event will be your highest volume of training.
Typically, you'll have 2 key shorter sessions midweek, and a longer ride on the weekend.
There are plenty of optional sessions so you can choose to train as much as you feel like!
Can I still ride with friends?
Each session is designed to be completed within your training zones - training with others can make that difficult.
However, a lot of the weekend rides are Zone 2 rides at a consistent pace. Provided you are at a similar level of fitness, or can control the pace, riding these with friends should be no problem at all
What do I need?
Minimum:
✅ A bike
✅ A Heart Rate Monitor
✅ A TrainingPeaks Account (free)
✅ Ability to track power either indoors (on a turbo/Wattbike) or outside on your bike
What if I miss a session?
Don't panic! Life gets in the way sometimes. The plans take a long-term approach to training, so one session won't set you back.
If you miss a week or more through illness or injury, make sure you're fully rested before restarting the plan. If you can, try to increase the volume.
If you're ever unsure, reach out to me for help!
Can I move the sessions around?
Of course - try to keep the same order of sessions, as they are planned to be progressive.
The plans are originally set out to work around the usual working week (shorter midweek sessions, longer weekend sessions)
You can move these around to suit you
What's so good about this plan compared to general 'Gran Fondo' or endurance plans?
I have found that the Mallorca 312 provides riders with unique challenges. The elevation is testing, with climbs coming in quick succession, with a vastly different course profile in the second half of the event.
Having done this event 7 times - I have been able to tailor this plan and improve it year on year specifically for this challenge.
Rather than just prescribing a high training load, I've always focused on making this plan fit around a working lifestyle, so you're training smarter.
