Don't Fear the Spike: Free Webinar

Free live webinar · Monday 5 October · 7pm UK · 1 hour · online

With nutrition coach Kate Macleod, hosted by James Walsgrove.

Is white bread really the enemy?

Scroll social media for five minutes and you'd think carbs were the problem. "Stop the spike." "Flatten your glucose curve." Eat a slice of white bread and you'll pay for it.

A lot of that advice is written for people who sit still all day. You don't. You train. And when you're riding, that glucose spike is your body doing exactly what it should: getting fuel to the muscles that need it.

The problem we see far more often isn't riders eating too many carbs. It's riders eating too few. Fading in the last hour. Feeling flat for days after a big session. Struggling to hold power they know they've got, and blaming their fitness when it's actually their fuel.

What we'll cover

  • What a carb actually is, and how your body uses it
  • Insulin and glucose spikes: what's really going on, and why it's different when you train
  • What to eat, and when, on and off the bike
  • How much carbohydrate riders really need, and why most of us eat too little
  • Your questions, answered live
