LEJOG – Day 4

After 3 days in the mountains it was back to the flat today which brought it’s own issues of tackling some major towns and cities. The first of which was Warrington so we attempted to navigate the way trying to look at the garmin, point out potholes and not get too distracted by the ladies wearing not much in this weather! The old chap we saw on a mobility scooter obviously spends all day getting distracted as we caught him following a pretty blonde in a short skirt and just smiled across at us while we waited at the lights!

After miss timing our lunch stop’s previously we decided to stop when we could and today’s lovely setting  was a road junction near Wigan. Rob had a bit of issue in the afternoon and had to make a beeline for the pub to use there facilities blaming the salad that came with the Jacket potato. Alistair suggested it wasn’t cooked enough and to go for medium/well done next time! We enjoyed a nice cold coke zero (thanks Rob!) and continued on our way!

Now I haven’t got to the point of lying  to Alistair yet but I think this will change tomorrow with regards to the temperature. He was quite pleased and happy with himself to comment that the temperature had increased and must be about 24’c although after checking the Garmin it turned out to be 34’c, his faced dropped, down tools and said it’s too hot to ride! I have a feeling that tomorrows peak is going to be 25’c! 😉

Me and Rob have the joy of sharing with Alistair tonight so looks like its our time for the cream!

Check out the video below! I will go back and update the other blogs when I get a chance!
